October 2008 sees the Morwell Golf Club turn 100 years old.  While not initially on its present site, the Club has been around in some shape or form for 100 years.  To celebrate this, the Club has planned a week of golf for past, current and new members as well as visitors who would like to be part of this special occasion.  We look forward to seeing you there.  Contact the club for more details.

October ’08 Morwell Golf Club Centenary Celebrations

Sunday 5th October:
4 BBB Stableford Mixed + Overflow for those without a partner.
Shot Gun start at 10 am by ENTRY only.
Entry fee will include Afternoon Tea.

Monday 6th October:
Normal Stableford competition

Tuesday 7th October:
This is not a normal competition day at the Club so we will celebrate by inviting former older members of MGC, who no longer play golf, to an afternoon tea to look at the memorabilia and re-live “Old Times”.
John Dixon has very kindly donated all his Carts to give our guests a tour of the course.

Wednesday 8th October:
Ladies Day 4BBB Stableford partners. Ladies are encouraged to bring along a friend from another golf club and make it a full field.
The men will cook up a special lunch for you at a very reasonable cost.

Thursday 9th October:
Opening day of the 2008-09 CHICKEN RUN. Let’s make it the biggest opening to the season ever.
Special Buffet Dinner at a very reasonable cost.

Friday 10th October:
Gerries Day. A big thankyou to the Gerries who agreed to bring forward their programmed day from 17/10 to be a part of the celebrations. A nice lunch is planned.

Saturday 11th October:
Normal Saturday Stableford competition for Men and Ladies. Members are encouraged to bring along a friend from another club and make it a full field. Special breakfast & BBQ available.

Trophies: Every winner of each grade, where appropriate, will receive a special CENTENARY trophy in addition to the normal sponsored trophies of the day.

THE GRAND FINALE:
Saturday night will see 100 places available for a fabulous 2 course SPIT ROAST dinner and entertainment by a 4 piece Country & Western Band.
All this for $25 per head. What fantastic value!!!  First in best dressed.
